About Learn To Swim Class

Our Learn To Swim Class is suitable for a wide range of ability levels. This class is usually the first swimming lesson your child has had without a parent. Alternatively they could be brand new to the water. Either way, our experienced swim instructors will work with your child to make them feel comfortable and confident in the water, along with improving their swimming ability.

The overall objective of the Learn To Swim Class is teaching your child to swim independently and with confidence. Pat Taylor Swim School will focus on streamlining, paddling with and without flotation aids, blowing bubbles with eyes in water, back kicking, beginner dives and climbing out. Each activity is moving your child towards independent swimming without any flotation aids. Your child is also taught the correct way to pull themselves out of the pool unassisted after jumps and dives.

All lessons are in small groups with an AUSTSWIM-ASCTA certified instructor.

 

Hydrotherapy Pools

Your toddler’s comfort and health are assured, with our hydrotherapy pools at Dee Why and Mona Vale heated to around 32°C. Warm showers are also available for use after the lesson.

 

Locations

Pat Taylor Swim School offers our Pre-School Learn To Swim Class at both our Dee Why and Mona Vale pools.

 

Tuition 

Learn To Swim Class costs $250 per term (10 x 30 minute lessons)
Private lessons: $800 per term

 

 

First Lap Voucher

From 1st December, 2021 the NSW Government has implemented a $100 First Lap Learn To Swim Voucher for children aged between 3 – 6. Pat Taylor Swim School is a registered provider of this program. If you haven’t already applied for your voucher, click here.

 

 

Make-up Lessons

Make-up lessons are offered if a lesson is missed due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, depending on availability. Should you need to arrange a make-up lesson, please contact us on 02 9977 6125.
